Flying two boats from Italy to Uzbekistan
In July 2022, a freight forwarder asked us to help fly two boats from Italy to Uzbekistan for the inauguration of a new luxury tourist complex. In addition to the unusually large and bulky cargo, this tricky operation was made even more complicated when an equipment failure at the airport threatened to delay the flight. Our experienced team worked around the clock to come up with an alternative solution and deliver the boats in time.
Our Solution
Route: Rimini > Tashkent
Aircraft: Antonov An-124
A specialist aircraft was needed to load the outsize cargo, so we chartered an Antonov An-124 to depart from Bologna.
After arranging the necessary warehousing, ramp and airport handling, the charter was thrown into jeopardy when the airport’s pushback tractor broke down three days prior to departure.
After liaising with the airport to try and get the equipment fixed, we decided to re-route the flight to depart from Rimini. Our team worked through the weekend to change the road and air permits, allowing the charter to operate with no delay to the original schedule.
